Discover "Lamb Meets Lion"

I'm Rachel, and I like to write to process what God is teaching me.  "Lamb Meets Lion" is the product of that and comes out of a very personal journey of mine with Jesus Christ, aimed to speak to the hearts of soldiers of Christ like myself who are seeking to make sense of this life. This entails a sanctifying process that God has designed, tailor-made for each of us, to refine us as gold and silver are refined in fire.  This involves walking with the living God, who is a consuming fire and feels like a lion-meets-lamb encounter on a regular basis.  In the Chronicles of Narnia by C.S. Lewis, I believe it was Lucy who said of Aslan, the Lion who depicts Jesus, "He is not safe, but He is good."  As a child of God by faith in Christ Jesus, knowing Yahweh (I AM) and being purged by Him can feel terrifying, but time assures us of His faithfulness to not crush us with His teeth, even when we're in His mouth.  Instead, we find He has lifted us up and carried us to the green pastures of God's loving promises.  I pray God uses this blog to encourage, renew, and re-center others who, like myself, feel they are lambs who have met the Lion of Judah in a way that has shown them who they are before the Holy God Yahweh (Hebrews 4:12).  I hope this website helps us to better understand the reconstruction Jesus desires for us, and the eternal life He offers us through His life and sacrifice.  Do you feel torn apart?  Then we can encourage each other.

My Family

Updated December, 2023

I have two families!  One is a wonderful husband and two beautiful children the Lord has given me...

You can check out our family blog here.

My other family is my precious brothers and sisters in Jesus.

I'm featuring here the specific church that God has chosen me to walk with virtually in far-off Uganda.

While the Lord has me busy in local ministry through both my children's Christian school and my local church's ESL (English as a Second Language) ministry, He has also called me to help the "orphans and widows in their distress" in one specific place.  I keep up the following website, and if you would like to get on the mailing list, e-mail wellofhopeafrica@gmail.com (I hand-write occasional update e-mails that are more intimate than the website updates).

WELL of HOPE is a deaconate ministry of Believers' World  Church in Iganga, Uganda and helps support Zion Children's Haven, run by senior Pastor Emmanuel Amos Kisa and his wife Eunice.

I'm Rachel, Nice to Meet You

I was raised a Christian, sought to follow Jesus my whole life, and then really encountered Him in 2017.  Anyone who really encounters God feels like they got hit by a semi-truck.  Jesus has been rebuilding me ever since, pummeling me again, then rebuilding again--over and over, showing me recesses of my sinful, proud heart that I never dreamed could look so ugly, and reminding me that His "grace is sufficient" for me, as He told the Apostle Paul.  I have experienced an intimacy with Him that I would never take back, in spite of walking through the horrors of death's valleys.  Today, the glories of the gospel's promises are much richer to me than ever before, and I hope you can join me in this journey.
